Suspenseful, well-done jungle adventure of a plantation owner (Heston) in South America and his North American mail-order bride (Parker), who do battle with a deadly, miles-long siege of red army ants. Realistic and worth watching. Produced by George Pal, shot by Ernest Laszlo and based on the story "Leiningen vs. the Ants" by Carl Stephenson.

Okay, so I'm not a big Heston fan-- even Ben Hur bugs me because he's in it...but he plays the uncomfortable and antisocial hero very well, and the ant scenes are very cool, considering this is a mid-century film.
