No Time for Sergeants

Hilarious film version of the Broadway play by Ira Levin, which was based on the novel by Mac Hyman. Griffith is excellent as Georgia farm boy Will Stockdale, who gets drafted into the service and creates mayhem among his superiors and colleagues. Of course, Griffith had already played the role both on stage and in a TV version. McCormick was also repeating his Broadway role of Sgt. King. Note Don Knotts in a small role along with Jameel Farah who went on to star in TV's "M*A*S*H" after changing his name to Jamie Farr.
