Leone's grandiloquent, shambling tribute to the American Western. Set during the Civil War, it follows the seemingly endless adventures of three dirtbags in search of a cache of Confederate gold buried in a nameless grave. Violent, exaggerated, beautifully crafted, it is the final and finest installment of the "Dollars" trilogy: a spaghetti Western chef d'oeuvre.

What a fantastic film. Stellar score, stellar acting, stellar script. There is so much more going on in this film than what you'll find in any typical good "Western." One of the finest meditations on existential angst ever presented in any medium.
