Based of the true story of teenage champion surfer Bethany Hamilton (Robb) who was surfing at her home of Kauai, Hawaii in 2003 when a tiger shark attacked and nearly bit off her left arm. The arm had to be amputated and Bethany persevered (having the support of her family and strong faith) to learn to surf one-armed and try for the championships again.
