The Lincoln Lawyer

McConaughey successfully goes back to acting rather than just shirtless posing as streetwise L.A. criminal defense attorney Mick Haller, whose office is the backseat of his chauffeured Lincoln Continental. The venal Mick will basically take any case if the money is right but gets more than intended when he agrees to defend Beverly Hills playboy Louis Roulet (Phillippe) who's accused of assault. The always-watchable and sexy Tomei plays Mickey's smart, prosecuting attorney ex-wife and the rest of the supporting cast are aces as well. Director Furman briskly moves the action along in this adaptation of Michael Connelly's novel.
