Two unwittingly neglectful fathers try to teach their troubled sons moral lessons in Bier's family drama. Pacifist Anton divides his time between his work as a doctor in a Kenyan refugee camp and his life with estranged wife Marianne and son Elias in a Danish town. Recent widower Claus and his son Christian are newcomers to the same town and the boys become friends. When Christian sees Elias being harassed by the school bully, he intervenes (a knife is involved), shocking the adults who miss the implication that the boys' idea of violent retribution is not so isolated. Danish with subtitles.
