Kings of the Evening
Inspirational but unsubtle story finds Homer homeless upon his release from a Southern chain gang and willing to let new friend Benny find him a room at Grace's boardinghouse. The men gather on Sunday night at the local hall for an all-male fashion show that brings prize money or food and some social standing for the winner as they try to maintain their dignity through hard times.
