Interesting premise, awkward and unbelievable execution. War widow Janet (Russell) was disappointed in her marriage and feels guilty since her husband died a hero. She decides to meet the five soldiers he saved to see if they were worthy of his sacrifice. After an accident causes hysterical paralysis, Janet is approached by one of the men, alcoholic reporter Smithfield Cobb (Douglas), who suggest hypnosis can help Janet overcome her difficulties (there's an extended dream sequence).
