The Conquerors
Obvious, though well-done, story intended to show that perseverance can overcome any obstacle (including the Depression). The Standish family leaves New York after the financial collapse of 1873 and eventually makes their home in Fort Allen, Nebraska. Roger (Dix) opens a bank and establishes a banking dynasty over the next 55 years while enduring both prosperity and hard times.
