After getting fired by boss Bob Stuart (Young), bored small town clerk Peggy Evans (Turner) heads to New York where she gets a makeover, fakes amnesia, and passes herself off as the long-lost daughter of wealthy Cornelius Burden (Brennan). Because of convoluted circumstances, Bob self-servingly follows along leading to bad consequences for the dame.
