Based on a true story. African-American teenager Brianna (Raven-Symone) decides to protest her hometown's tradition of two racially separate senior proms after her suggestion that the proms finally be combined brings out the community's simmering prejudices. She's aided by New Orleans-based reporter Desiree Howard (Tyler) who grew up in the town and went through the same situation.
