Directed by sibling special effects gurus who bill themselves as the Brothers Strause, this entry in the "aliens attack" genre steals bits of its thin plot from other recent sci-fi films. After a hard night of partying, a group of hungover LA hipsters awake to find themselves in the midst of an invasion of squid-like space invaders who use an eerie light show to mesmerize and devour the populace. Faison and Balfour do their best, but the dialogue is ridiculous. The special effects are good, especially considering that the movie was reportedly made for about $10 million.
