The King's Speech

Britain's King George VI (Firth), afflicted with a stammer since childhood, seeks help from irreverent and unconventional speech therapist Lionel Logue (Rush). The King's ascension to the throne was neither expected nor desired, but in the wake of his brother Edward's (Pearse) abdication he finds himself pressed into service, yet utterly unable to address a world headed toward war. Both Firth and Rush deliver riveting performances, pulling back the curtain on an intimate and pivotal moment in the world of royalty.

And Colin Firth watchers are certainly swirling around the possibilities that his portrayal of King George VI in The King's Speech could make this, the ...Read More

Wonderfully entertaining

Not as bold as 'Inception' or as relevant as 'The Social Network," but just as worthy in its own way. Propelled by endearing performances and an interesting true-life story, this is among the most enjoyable films of 2010.
