Jack Goes Boating

Hoffman makes his directorial debut in this adaptation of Bob Glaudini's play in which he also starred onstage. Insecure, overweight 40something New York limo driver Jack (Hoffman) is set up for romance with can't-catch-a-break Connie (Ryan) by his best married friends Clyde (Ortiz) and Lucy (Rubin-Vega). But both are inclined to take any romance very, very slowly, as shown by Jack's intention to give Connie a summer rowboat ride (it's now winter) as he does some other self-improvements using his feelings to finally make some changes.
