One-time brace-faced high school nerd Marni (Bell), now grown-up and good-looking, discovers years later that her brother is about to marry Joanna (Yustman), the bully who made her adolescence a living hell. Coincidentally, her mother (Curtis) went through the same ugly duckling years in high school, tormented by the bride's Aunt Ramona (Weaver). Cue the uncomfortable reunion between the warring families for the wedding ceremony. Sounds like a decent idea for a screwball farce, but incorrectly shoots for a warm-hearted romantic comedy. Total waste of big-time female talent and star power, including White's typecast turn as the dopey grandma.
