A Woman, a Gun and a Noodle Shop

Zhang's remake of the Coen brothers 1984 film "Blood Simple," is transferred to a dusty desert town sometime during China's feudal past. Cheapskate Wang owns a roadside inn, doesn't pay his help, and neglects his wife who's having an affair with their young cook. She decides to bump off the old grouch but Wang is suspicious and hires a cop to kill off the adulterous lovers but there's a certain farcical quality to the entire deadly situation.
