After the traumatic death of their daughter, salesman Doug (Gandolfini) and his wife Lois (Leo) are merely going through the motions of their marriage. When Doug goes to a convention in Katrina-ravaged New Orleans he encounters stripper/hooker Mallory (Stewart), who reminds him of his lost child. His paternal instincts overwhelm him, and he moves into her run-down shack to try to protect her. Agoraphobic Lois then heads south to try to bring her husband back. Unlikely healing begins to flourish like the mildew on the intentionally grubby set design. Directed by Jake Scott, son of renowned director Ridley Scott.
