The Town

Affleck co-writes, directs, and stars in this moody crime drama based on Chuck Hogan's novel "Prince of Thieves." Doug MacRay leads a gang of Charlestown bank robbers who pride themselves on getting the job done fast and clean. Only this last time, manager Claire Keesey briefly became a hostage and all too aware that the crooks know her identity. What she doesn't know is that Doug has taken a personal interest in her and now wants to ditch his criminal life. Affleck further enhances his reputation in front of and behind the camera, with help from a number of excellent performances.
