A quarter-life crisis by two New Yorkers feels familiar and a little overly earnest; the story is also bookended by 9/11 and the mass Northeast blackout in August 2003. Best buds, sportswriter Jake (Fishel) and banker Andrew (Stanford) are moving aimlessly through their lives. After one drunken night, Andrew persuades Jake to blow everything off for awhile and take a road trip with him that turns out to be to Andrew's Ohio hometown where his father has just died.
