Depressed and recently divorced Robert Forrester (Considine) moves to a small town in search of peace. He suddenly takes to peeping in the kitchen window of Jenny (Stiles), who befriends Robert when she catches him looking. That's 'cause Jenny is kinda weird and has just broken up with her boyfriend Greg (Gilbert). And then Robert's manipulative ex Nickie (Dhavernas) gets into the mix. The interactions between the characters seem forced and clumsy and the movie isn't nearly as well-thought out as its source material--the 1962 novel by Patricia Highsmith.
