Diva nightclub performer Mabel (Gray) is riding high since her lover is London club owner Valentine Wilmot (Thomas) and her dance act with partner Victor (Ritchard) is a hit. At least until Val fires Victor for trying to get Mabel to quit and work in America. Mabel isn't a success on her own so Val takes a chance on Asian kitchen drudge Shosho (Wong) whom Victor sees entertaining her fellow workers which fuels Mabel's insecurities. Originally shot as a silent but director Dupont did reshoots for a sound version.
