This Alabama sin city has drugs, prostitution, and a number of other vices all run by crime boss Rhett Tanner (Andrews), who has the cops on his payroll and the local politicians in his pocket. This doesn't stop some reform-minded citizens from pushing honest Albert Patterson (McIntire) to take on the DA's job. And when Albert is murdered, his lawyer son John (Kiley) steps right in. Gritty docudrama based on a true story that happened in 1954.
