Remake of the 1923 silent "Within the Law." Mary Turner (Crawford) vows revenge on the men who sent her to the slammer after a false conviction for theft. Thanks to friend Agnes' (Prevost) connections, she meets racketeer Joe Garson (Armstrong) but Mary sticks to her own plans, which include marrying Bob (Montgomery), the son of department store owner Edward Gilder (Pratt), one of the men who sent her to prison.
