Ungainly, gimmicky drama. Self-absorbed, middle-aged writer Richard (Daniels) is sequestered in a Long Island cabin by wife Claire (Kudrow) in an effort to get him over his writer's block. Richard prefers communing with his imaginary friend since childhood, a bleached-blond superhero knockoff he calls Captain Excellent (a nearly-unrecognizable Reynolds). Then he impulsively hires lonely teenager Abby (Stone) as a babysitter and she sticks around even after realizing it's Richard that needs the company. They bond over soup and conversation--it's that kind of flick.
