The Contender
Widowed truck driver Gary Farrell (Crabbe) can't afford to send his son to a prestigious military school on his paycheck, so he enters a boxing competition in hopes of winning the prize. To everyone's surprise he's pretty good at it, and 20 minutes later he's in line to be a contender for the heavyweight title. Unfortunately just as quickly he gets drug down by a flashy blonde who introduces him to booze and nightclubs, and is pretty quickly in need of redemption.
