After being falsely convicted of theft, shopgirl Mary Turner (Talmadge) spends three years in prison and can't find a job after her release. Then, New York con man Joe Garson (Cody) comes to Mary's aid and becomes her mentor. Mary's revenge mark is Richard Gilder (Mulhall), the son of department store owner Edward (Kilgour) who sent her to the joint, and she gets Richard to fall in love with her.
