In Hines' amusing comedy (he wrote and starred), Irish immigrant Terry O'Toole saves the life of Bobby Connelly (Sage) and is rewarded with a job at the Connelly's streetcar company. Terry then falls in love with the boss's daughter Noretta (May) and seeks to ensure both his work and romance by defending the company against a hostile takeover with some help from his father Mike (Mason).
