Don't you hate it when the writer/director makes his characters into some weird archetypes that can't even have names? A young Jewish woman in a concentration camp survives by having a sexual relationship with a Nazi doctor that warps her for life. Immigrating to the United States, she turns into a harpy (Bisset) who emotionally stunts her two sons. The elder (Lucas) is promiscuous and is involved in sado/masochistic sex with his boss while the younger (Haas) isolates himself in his apartment. Everything feels very stagy and awkward. English, French, and German with subtitles.
