Eccentric, aggravating, impecunious New Yorker Henry Harrison (Kline) becomes a mentor to his young and equally-eccentric new boarder Louis Ives (Dano). Henry is a self-proclaimed aristocrat who serves as an escort to wealthy older women (hence the title) while Louis is obsessed with literature and cross-dressing. There are a couple of subplots that don't matter much since it's the interactions between Kline and Dano that hold the viewers' attention. Adaptation of Jonathan Ames' 1998 novel.
