Small scale sentimental indie tackling post-war trauma in a small Texas town. Iraq war vet James (O'Nan) returns to his family and their hardscrabble existence in El Paso, taking up a job at the local slaughterhouse. Not surprisingly, he struggles with life and his wife (Ferrera) and best buddy (Ritter) don't know how to help. James jets, picking up war-worn buddy Raymond (Valderrama) along the way, hoping the roadtrip will trigger some pleasant memories. Things go from serious to silly when they visit a friend in the VA hospital, sending the story into fuzzy territory.
