Effective and affecting boxing drama. Illegal migrant worker Hector (Becker) makes more money as a successful backroom boxer. This gets him into trouble with racist Big Al (Lang), who controls the town and whose son Robert (Nesic) is supposed to be the local great white hope. Big Al tries to get rid of the competition, which eventually leads to a grudge match.
