Moderately amusing screwball comedy although the two leads don't have much chemistry. Guy Johnson (Stewart) is a rude, neophyte PI who goes on the lam after his trouble-prone millionaire client Willie Heyward (Truex) gets them both falsely convicted of murder and conspiracy. Guy steals the car of eccentric poet Edwina Corday (Colbert)--with her in it--and she's soon charmed by the lug and eager to help him find the real killer. Guy's fond of trying out goofy disguises, including posing as a Boy Scout leader in short pants and coke-bottle glasses.
