A Death in California

Hope Masters (Ladd) is a Beverly Hills mom, with a co-dependent personality, who is raped and threatened by sociopath Jordan Williams (Elliott). She is then manipulated into believing his lies so that he becomes part of her life which eventually leads to their arrest and trial for her fiance's murder. Elliott's vain would-be charmer is chilling but the behavior of Ladd's character is generally inexplicable and you're left with more questions than answers.
