In 1999, American mountaineer Conrad Anker was part of a team that recovered the body of George Mallory--75 years after the British mountaineer vanished in 1924, along with climbing partner Andrew Irvine, while attempting to make the first ascent to the summit of Mount Everest. Includes archival footage and recreations of the climb and recovery efforts along with readings from Mallory's letters and other narration. Mallory offered his now-famous rationale for climbing Everest as "because it's there."
