Modern retelling of the "Beauty and the Beast" story based on the novel by Alex Finn and intended for tween girls (and maybe some older sisters). Wealthy, handsome Kyle (Pettyfer) has a mean streak, but he humiliates the wrong classmate when witchy Kendra (Olsen) uses a spell to transform Kyle into a (somewhat) repulsive character with weird tribal tattoos, scars, and piercings. Banished to Brooklyn seclusion, his curse can only be lifted if Kyle can find someone to love him as he is. So he makes a deal with wrong side of the tracks Linda Taylor (Hudgens) who moves in and becomes his companion.
