Big Brother IS watching. The movie, loosely based on a 1954 story by Philip K. Dick, who didn't include the love story that's really the heart of Nolfi's sci-fi/romance/thriller. David Norris (Damon) has just lost his senatorial bid when he meets ballet dancer Elise (Blunt) and they discover an instant rapport. Then fate, literally in the form of guys wearing suits and fedoras, strives to keep them apart so they won't alter the future. However, David believes he should control his own destiny and he and Elise refuse to give each other up despite increasing pressures (and multiple chase scenes).
