Coming-of-old-age dark comedy that plays more like a biopic of the star himself. Possibly facing some serious health issues, former used car dealer Ben Kalmen (Douglas) sets out to recapture the hedonism of his youth, including divorcing his wife (Sarandon) followed by shacking up with a younger woman (Parker). Everyone around him is appalled, especially his daughter Susan (Fischer) who gets hit up for rent money. An experienced cast turns in excellent performances for writer/director Koppelman, who gives Douglas the best material he's had in 10 years.
