Parker offers an absurdist look at the contemporary New York art and music scenes and the differences between commerce and personal expression. Humorless Adrian (Goldberg) is a self-important avant-garde composer and his brother Josh (Bailey) is a superficial commercially-successful artist. Adrian begrudges his brother's success, especially since Adrian himself is neither successful nor a particularly good composer. However, ambitious Chelsea art gallery owner Madeleine (Shelton) commissions Adrian for a performance piece to be played during an exhibition by pretentious bad boy Brit Ray (Jones) and his luck may finally change.
