The Barbarian
Diana (Loy) travels to Cairo with her Uncle Cecil (Smith) and sharp-tongued companion Powers (Hale) to meet stuffy fiance Gerald (Denny). Arab guide Jamil (Navarro) is immediately attracted to the beauty, eventually kidnapping her and taking Diana on a desert trek to further his romantic plans after revealing to her that he's actually a prince. Pre-Code MGM production has a risque bathing scene by Loy and a questionable seduction scene common to the milieu. Based on Edgar Selwyn's racy play "The Arab."
