Remick is chillingly effective as sociopathic socialite Frances Bradshaw Schreuder in this true crime miniseries that's based on the book by Shana Alexander. Mentally unstable Frances comes from a wealthy family but impulsively marries outside her social strata. After divorcing two husbands, she takes her sons Marc and Larry and tries to establish herself in New York, using them to swindle money from her father. Frances eventually pressures a teenaged Marc (Donovan) into murder, leading to her own arrest and sensational trial.
