Hello Goodbye

Despite the cast, this culture clash comedy doesn't work thanks to annoying characters and situations. Gisele (Ardant) converted to Judaism to marry Alain (Depardieu) although the longtime married couple was never religious. What they are is bored and a trip to Israel impulsively convinces them to start over again in Tel Aviv. But doctor Alain's promised job falls through, their apartment isn't habitable, and most of their luggage is lost in transit. A zealous Gisele gets involved with questionable rabbi Yoshi (Ashkenazi) as Alain decides to explore his religious roots as well. English, French, and Hebrew with subtitles.
