A weak romantic drama worth watching for Gish. Russian peasant Marfa (Gish) lives with her avaricious aunt and uncle who are constantly trying to marry her off to ugly-but-wealthy suitors. She loves poor-but-handsome Jan (Bennett) and discovers he's onboard the same ship when they emigrate to America but things don't get any easier for the couple.
