Set in 1806 New York, with Davies starring as a feisty Irish lass who, at her father's (Kerrigan) urging, disguises herself as her late brother so the family can claim an inheritance left to him. Cousin Larry (Ford) would have inherited had the O'Days not shown up but he still befriends young Pat, whom the confused guy eventually realizes is a girl.
