Smoothly-done father-son road trip comedy. Aging Atlantic City con man Nat (Walken) is getting by on five bucks a day, lots of freebies, and his own agenda. That includes pressing estranged son Flynn (Nivola) into taking the wheel of a customized pink PT cruiser and heading out on a cross-country road trip. They make a stop in Amarillo, Texas so Nat can visit Flynn's former babysitter and successful swindler Dolores (Stone), who knows some family secrets that Flynn doesn't (yet).
