Operator 13
Implausible plot, and the title role is not a good fit for natural comedienne Davies as she plays an actress turned Union spy during the Civil War. Gail assumes a couple of identities (including that of a mulatto washerwoman) to get information and later discovers a mutual attraction with Confederate captain, Jack Gailliard (Cooper). The Oscar-nominated cinematography by George Folsey is the best thing about the film.
