Wood-tick fearing Long Islanders give the film its odd title in this vividly-acted black comedy. Timid teen Scott (Rory Culkin) exists to be bullied although things get better when his longtime crush Adrianna (Roberts) finally starts taking an interest. His brother Jim (Kieran Culkin) is off to serve in the military, their mother Brenda (Hennessy) is over-anxious about Lyme disease while their workaholic dad Mickey (Baldwin) is having an affair with Adrianna mom's Melissa (Nixon). Her dad Charlie (Hutton) is a pill-popper who likes to randomly shoot into the woods with his rifle. There's an awkward first time sex scene between the teens and a lot of marital squabbling.
