Dare

This sexually charged coming-of-age tale takes the standard Hollywood teen comedy in unexpected directions. Alexa (Rossum) is a good-girl drama student who seduces popular jock Johnny (Gilford) after being ripped as inexperienced by a local actor (Cumming). Meanwhile, her sexually confused childhood friend Ben (Springer) is also making moves on Johnny. The story unfolds in three sections featuring each member of the triangle, with Gilford standing out as the surprisingly sensitive Johnny. Good performances all the way around help roughen the edges of this story that seems aimed at the art house crowd.
