Blind Date
The games couples play. Estranged married couple Don (Tucci) and Janna (Clarkson) place personal ads for specific role-playing dates as they struggle to reconnect in the wake of their young daughter's tragic death. Loose but loyal interpretation of a film by Dutch director Theo van Gogh, who was murdered by a Muslim extremist in 2004. Tucci's version is not as developed as the original and is a thinly veiled attempt at an homage. Shot on a single set, it would have fared better as a play but instead is an awkward mix of tragedy, comedy, and romance.
