Scientists studying residue left from an atomic bomb blast on a South Sea island are befriended by chief's son Kimo who gets killed by witch doctor Tano for breaking tribal law. Kimo curses said doctor and comes back as a tree stump spirit/monster (because a tree grew on the grave) and lumbers around getting revenge.
