The City of Violence

Tae-su (Doo-hong Jung) returns to his hometown to attend the funeral of an old friend who has been murdered. Being a cop, Tae-su is a little suspicious of events, and soon discovers an old acquaintance is responsible for the assassination, and he and his old partner decide to get revenge personally. It's a style-over-substance film, but the fights and musical score do well to make up for its shortcomings in plot. Besides, it's a revenge movie with the prerequisite amounts of massive butt kickin'.
